INSPIRATION
14th C. Sicilian motif of an eagle-like creature referenced in many mythological cultures, hand embroidered on cotton in 17th. century Ari technique.
DETAILS
Fabric: Greige cotton.
Embroidery: Black silk/rayon thread.
Embroidery technique: Ari work originated in the Mughal reign in 17th century India. It involves a hooked or awl needle thrust into fabric stretched on a frame fed by a thread from below. One hand pulls the thread from under and the other holds the hooked needle and brings up the thread in loops creating a chain stitch.
Back: Exposed black zipper. Embroidered logo.
