About the Item
This product is the first in a line that will examine the concept of luxury also as an expression of holistic well-being. Luxury is still about exclusivity, quality and beauty, but in a world of manufactured abundance and simultaneously dwindling natural resources, it is also about being respectful of materials and getting rid of unwanted extras. Clean pillow is a resting 'pod', or working station, for your computer. It is made of luxurious recovered fur, recycled reconditioned leather, repurposed wood and lined with a fabric that protects the user from radiation emitted from one's laptop. I am not a scientist but common sense tells me that any form of radiation is also, by definition, a form of energy, and was struck when a fertility doctor told me that she advised patients to refrain from using laptops by placing them directly near the body. It is exactly this kind of situation which clearly exemplifies how the future of luxury will be dictated, not only by the traditional tenets, but by new ones, mostly based on the avoidance of unwanted 'extras' that our consumeristic society, and industry, provides us with. And respect for any material, whether a new comer or recycled, is paramount. Cleanliness is next to Godliness.

Enrico Marone Cinzano
Enrico Marone Cinzano has made a career of pushing boundaries and questioning how design can affect the environment and society. Enrico embarked on his collection of ethical furniture in 2011. Inspired by Nature and its inherent balance, he sought out to fully integrate sustainability and artful design to create structural and sculptural products. His body of work blends art and function with locally sourced salvaged materials that undergo rigorous standards of construction and craftsmanship. Designer and entrepreneur Enrico Marone Cinzano was born in Turin, Italy in 1963. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Babson College in 1983. Following a career and finance and real estate development, in 2001, he co-founded sustainable fashion label Project Alabama , serving as co-creative director until 2007. Project alabama was critically acclaimed, going on to receive a nomination for the 2005 from New York's Cooper-Hewitt Museum and was named a finalist for the CGDA/Vogue fashion fund award. Following the Enrico began to design a collection of sculptural, nature-inspired furniture in 2012 utilizing local, sustainable materials. The eponymous ethical collection is rooted in a respect for ecology, enduring craftsmanship, and principled consumption. Enrico collaborates with independent fabricators and craftsmen in Italy, United Kingdom,United States and China.
