This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from an up-cycled, recycled luxury fabric, used with the intentions of promoting a more eco-friendly environment by using already existing materials. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. Through layers of carefully added backing the delicate fabric has been fortified for longevity and thus preserved. The business grew and was strong enough by 1929 to survive the Depression. Echo was one of the most prominent and prolific manufacturers of women’s patriotic scarves during wartime. They described the wartime culture and encourage optimism through propaganda, many displaying instructional directions. The scarves in this period used nylon and other non-essential fabric.
