Thank-you for looking. Custom made one-of-kind luxury cushion (pillow) created from a rare example of a vintage Pucci fashion scarf in a striking stylised floral pattern. With dramatic whimsical swirling shapes and a beautiful color palette of soft pastels and framed like a work of art in a matching border. It is a very unique example of Pucci and looks quite different from the majority of their prints which usually depict a more complex and busier pattern synonymous of Pucci. Here we have delicately outlined softer elegant petals and leaves appearing as if calmly floating in a gentle breeze. Born in 1914 to one of Florence’s most illustrious families, the Marquis Emilio Pucci di Barsento's success rose after designing sleek ski suits for his friends. His psychedelic prints in vibrant exotic colours, emblematic of the 60s, are inspired by underwater photography, another one of his hobbies. Pucci’s iconic designs feature sensual, free-flowing lines that follow the natural curves of the body. Whilst other fashion designers produce scarves to complement their collection, Pucci’s scarves are considered of equal importance to the clothes. The Pucci brand became so successful that he had to incorporate his signature into the pattern to avoid imitation. Note the repetitive ‘Emilio’ signature appearing throughout the fabric in our cushion running along the curved lines of the design. Would go fabulously with Mid-Century Modern furniture. The fabric was personally hand-picked by Katie at an Italian antiques market on the ‘Naviglio Grande’ in Milan. On a sumptuous silk soft to the touch. Backed in new 100% pure Irish linen, the aristocrat of textiles and certified by the Irish Linen Guild, lined in a layer of natural bamboo cloth, filled with new custom-made plush duck feather insert and a concealed zip. The traditional oatmeal color linen is a combination of the unbleached raw colour of the natural flax plant on the weft intertwined with pristine white on the warp, resulting in a beautiful melange effect. A contemporary cushion (pillow) constructed with antique elements by using fragments of precious fabric. Handmade in Ireland By designer-maker Katie Larmour This cushion is a one-of-a-kind and part of a sustainability project. It has been created from a repurposed, up-cycled, recycled fabric, used with the intentions on promoting a more eco-friendly environment. We both celebrate and cherish the past and take care with rare and precious vintage and antique materials. (this cushion frame can also be reversed back into a scarf and presented in a frame on request) Color: Pale pink, baby pink, bright pink, shocking pink, barbie pink, antique gold, lemon yellow, cadmium yellow, ochre, mustard, lilac, purple, ivory, off white, charcoal, pencil drawing, soft black, navy, beige, taupe. Condition: This item has slight signs of its former use, so slight it is not even pi red up with the camera but we are mentioning it for transparency. We usually only use perfect condition materials but on occasion when a piece we come across is really special and beautiful we make exceptions, however, there is no structural damage. We do not feel any marks that show a vintage piece’s age and history take away from its beauty.
