Vintage Kimono Sash decorative silk embroidery Obi lumbar pillow. “A kimono sash is a long flat piece of fabric used to secure a traditional Japanese robe called a kimono by being tied around the garment at the waist while it is being worn. The Japanese term for such a sash is "obi." The front panel of this decorative lumbar pillow is made with natural silk embroidered with silver and gold metallic threads; overall floral design with bold orange patterns; oyster color silk backing. In shades of natural, oyster, silver, gold, dark and light orange. Hand-stitched closure (no zipper.) custom-made pillow insert. Decorative lumbar pillow handcrafted and designed in the USA. Front vintage textile from Japan, 1940s.
