Lovely 19th century hooked rug with black braided border surrounding rug with vibrant red and teal highlighted Greek key border. Inset blue striped border around central floral medallion outlined by a striped arch and flanked by leafy arabesques. Dated center right 1891. Color variation at top left border likely due to different color used or very old repair. Mounted on black linen over wood stretcher and backed with foam core board, wired for hanging.
