Exquisite antique 18th century Venetian 100% Silk Fabric
About the Item
This is an absolutely exquisite, fine and rare 100% silk Venetian material/ fabric. It has a deep red wine very attractive and luxurious general main color, each border has a floral ornamentation and top and bottom has a little tiny tassels which are a real eye catcher. The fabric is in amazing condition. The purpose of it in the 18th century could have been different but it seems that later on it has been made into a tablecloth. The Venetians were the first Europeans who brought fine silk from China during Marco Polo era and then started making their own fine silk.
