About

Sheila Hicks is an internationally recognized artist, with a pair of degrees from Yale University. While travelling Chile as a Fullbright scholar in 1957, she developed an interest in working with fibers. This interest has blossomed into an incredible body of work, with pieces held in most major museums, and countless private collections, and a reputation as the world's foremost textile artist. The works offered here are representative of her best, each a collection of linen strands bound by tightly wound silk threads. Strong interplay of colors, including brilliant blue, purple, and red, with soft whorls of the linen fiber escaping the silk bindings. Each panel measures 58" H and 37" W, and are wall mounting. Offered individually or as a pair.
