About the Item
“Next 01” is a one-of-a-kind contemporary rug designed by Deanna Comellini for G.T.DESIGN, Italian design company pioneer in the field of contemporary rugs.
Part of the collection “Next”, such rug exemplifies the attention to textile research and experimentation paid by the Italian firm’s Creative Director Comellini, started in 1977 with both organic and technical fibers.
This unique round rug is digitally printed on a polyamide base which makes it incredibly hard-wearing in resisting wear and tear and bacterial contamination. Thanks to its thinness, “Next 01” is very easy to clean both manually and by robotic vacuum cleaners, thought for households with pets.
What’s more, the polyamide technical yarns used to apply the print are guaranteed and certified according to the international norms governing their use in contract sectors and public amenities.
“Next 01” features a color block design of rich earthly and grey-blue tones, which resemble hand-painted brush strokes of color on a natural backdrop.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy in 2022.
