Contemporary Khotan Rug

About the Item

Originating in the Eastern Turkestan oasis on the fabled Silk Road (now part of western China) Khotan rugs combined Western and Chinese design elements. The pomegranates, a symbol of fertility and abundance, is one of the most recognizable and important of those elements and features prominently in this contemporary version of a classic design. The center panel features a center medallion of pomegranates with mirrored pomegrante tree branches against a taupe/brown ombre background. Light teal green and creamy beige predominate in the design.
