19th Century Caucasian Kazak Area Rug in Geometric Pattern in Blue, Ivory, Red
About the Item
19th Century Caucasian Kazak in “Memling Gul” pattern in French Blue, Ivory and terracotta colors. The main design consists of five “Memling Gul” medallions in a column each set in a French blue background. The medallion colors include brick red and pale yellow. The artistry and craftsmanship are clearly visible in the use of high-quality materials and dyes. The rug has a very unique and desirable abrash French blue field color which is the result of using natural organic dyes that have over time developed these beautiful hues. The border is in a geometric design with an ivory background and designs in brick red, blue, green, and pale yellow.
Dimensions: 3’ 8” X 7’ 3”
