71469 Antique Caucasian Tribal Kurdish Rug, 04'07 x 11'00. Nomadic charm meets boho chic in this hand knotted wool antique Caucasian Kurdish rug. The intrinsic tribal design earthy colorway woven into this piece work together creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Four diamond medallions filled with a cross (cruciform motif) run along the center while an allover pattern composed of rosettes are dispersed across the richly striated field. A crenelated fence border reach from sides towards the centre of the field. From the centre of the rug, a series of borders create a frame. The cream-colored border is composted of large-scale amulet motifs for good luck and protection, flanked by two rosette and ribbon guard bands. Four sets of thin barber pole guard bands alternate between the series of borders. Based on traditional designs from the Caucasus region, this antique Kurdish rug is full of history and cultural appeal.​ Perfect for a hallway, alcove, small space, mudroom, stair landing, galley kitchen, corridor, grand foyer, designer entryway, home office, private library, conservatory, wine cellar, executive suite, grand parlor, theater room, royal suite, billiards room, game room, bedroom, study, sitting room, sunroom-- or it would make a lovely accent next to a buffet in a dining room, behind the sofa table in the living room, or by a vestibule in a hotel lobby.     In circa 1179 a young man who would grow up to be Cinggis Qahan (Ghengis Khan) was aided by the son of the Chieftain of the Arulat clan. The young man was Bo'orcu. He became one of Cinggis Qahan's Dorben Kulu'ud (Great Warriors). In the Yuan ch'ao pi-shih, Quatrain 205, it is recorded that later in life Cinggis Qahan said "Let Bo'orcu govern the ten thousand of the right hand which take the Altai as pillow." In other words the Qahan gave a proto-tribal unit to a key general. The Lu of Bo'orculu as coming from the same root as the Mongol term Ulus which means the land, animals, and people, that a that an IL or tribal group controls. These people became known as the Bo'orculu or people of Bo'orcu. Over the years Bo'orculu becomes Borchalu. So if Ford is correct and I believe he is that the Borchalu are Mongol than they must be descended from the Horde of Bo'orcu.
