Antique handmade tribal Caucasian Karabagh Runner, Circa Date: 1890, The first things that draw your eye to this carpet are the brilliant colors and Oriental-style design. Karabagh is a region in the southern Caucasus mountains in a region that is mountainous and heavily forested. The weavers of this area produced distinctive designs using bold patterns and striking color combinations. This Karabagh carpet features a vibrant red background, which contrasts with the browns, and chocolate accents of the design. The carpet shows a high level of artistic talent and skill. It designed with repeated directional of traditional symbols of Botheh design, it made of wool on wool foundation. These runner is like a painting produced by the hand of the individual artist. This carpet has a formal character, but it also has a unique tribal feeling and reflects the design characteristics of the region. This would make a beautiful piece for a traditional room, or it could easily go in a Boho chic design due to its tribal character. It's condition is good with wear consistent with age and use, the brown color has been oxidized. The runner has been professionally cleaned.
