About the Item

Made with hand knotted wool in 9 x 12 size originating circa 1980, this vintage French Country rug hails from the one of the earliest traditional designs in the Modern Classics collection by Rug & Kilim, acquired from the work of Berj Adatjian—one of the premiere creators of hand knotted rugs in the late 20th Century who began to create some of his finest work in Romania like this modern rug take on the French Country rug style. There’s an extremely sophisticated aesthetic playing elegantly with the modern appeal in this geometric design, a naturally dimensional array of beige, green, and purple tones with accenting colors skillfully bringing out the refined geometry and inner floral patterns with a transitional beauty. One of the few pieces from this artist made in the French Country rug style, particularly well-suited in size and sensibility for living rooms, cottage homes, cabins, second homes, and a variety of contemporary and modern interiors.
