Antique Beshir Engsi - 19th Century Antique Beshir Engsi Size: 109×206 cm (3,57 - 6,75 ft) This antique Beshir Engsi rug is a work of art from the 19th century. This carpet is an ensi type carpet used by the Beshir tribe to decorate traditional tent entrances. These carpets reflect Turkmen culture and history using vibrant colors, intricate patterns and symbols. The basic color of this carpet is red and it has geometric shapes and motifs in gold and darker colors. Numerous ornate bands with geometric patterns extend. The edges of the carpet are finely embroidered and have tassels on both ends. Each strip has its own unique pattern and adds to the aesthetic richness of the carpet. This rug is considered a testament to timeless elegance and enduring quality.
