Authentic Handmade Hand Knotted Wool Rug

About the Item

Fine quality handmade Afghan Red rug featuring Gul motifs and framed by richly ornamented borders. This Turkman Rug is created using the art of knotting from the Ersari from the past century. The Ersari, Turkmen nomads from the north of Afghanistan, knotted carpets, kilim tent bags in order to be able to live in the cold yurts all year round. The most striking feature of Turkmen carpets is their mostly geometric ornamentation and the red to red-brown Overall color. The main motif of this knotting work is the so-called "Gül", a mostly octagonal main motif. These Ersari works from the last century (1940 - 1960) are rare, irretrievable originals today. Nomadic and semi-nomadicism is also on the verge of extinction in Afghanistan. The hand-knotted workpieces of the Ersari collection are precious rarities from a private collection and were restored with much love and effort in the country of origin. Rug size is 200 x 300 cms. This particular rug will enhance your living space. Ideal for Living Room, Hallway, Bedroom or Office spaces.
