About the Item
Hachlu rugs were made by Turkeman (Turkomen or Turkoman) tribes living mostly in Turkmenistan and Northern Afghanistan (Balkh province). The Hachlu designs are variants of Tekke Gul Bokhara rugs, based on Turkmen rug known as Engsi. Hachlu rugs are typically recognized by their unique Directional field design that is divided in to quarters.
The fine weave, thick New Zealand wool, and high quality wool foundation of the Afghan Hachlu rugs is what makes them so soft and pliable. Hachlu rugs can be draped as a wall-hanging tapestry or used as an area rug for high-end interiors.
Unlike usual Hachlu design rugs, this rug is monochromatic in color, which makes it timeless.
