76628, distressed antique Afghani rug with Adirondack Lodge Style 02'11 x 03'10. This hand knotted wool distressed antique Afghani rug features a large-scale lozenge composed of four petaled flowers alternating with curved sickle leaves and surrounded byan eight-point stars. The inside of the lozenge medallion is filled with ancient tribal motifs. Latch-hooks and saw-tooth create a hexagonal field and form four corner spandrels which are adorned with a large rosette, three crosses, five T-shaped Ram's Horn motifs, and a chevron wavelength. Enhanced by its distressed composition and waves of abrash sweeping across the field, this antique Afghanistan rug beautifully displays worn-in charm with an intimate patina.
