Rug & Kilim’s Afghan Baluch Tribal Rug in Rust with Red and Teal Medallions

About the Item

Hand knotted in wool, this 6x8 Baluch rug represents a new line of tribal carpets in the Modern Classics Collection by Rug & Kilim. Each piece represents the work of women weavers in Afghanistan, preserving the rich tradition of their centuries-old craft. On the Design: This piece is believed to represent the “Kohistani” design—a Persian term meaning “from the mountainous land” per its nomadic origins. The patterns in blue, red & brown accompanied by a tasteful accent play sit boldly on a gold background for a smart pop of color. Condition: This mid-century tribal rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin. Furthermore, its promotional price is in support of the women of Afghanistan.
