Handwoven in wool, this contemporary 9x11 Kilim is from a bold new custom-capable flatweave collection by Rug & Kilim.
On the Design:
Our “Rez Kilim” draws inspiration from classic Persian panel-weaving techniques, reimagined with a modern, textural sensibility. This piece enjoys beige and off-white tones, hand-stitched with black stripes and accents in field and border alike. It’s a creative modern approach to the look of paneled rows (or ‘columns’) in old-world kilims, while playing more solid, neutral themes together for a smart, playful look and comfortable texture.
Admirers of the craft will further note a more heavy, durable body to this flatweave than other Kilims—made to better resist buckling and shifting in varied spaces. It’s a more spacious large-size answer to connoisseurs of Kilims, with a tasteful modernization of their personal handmade beauty.
