Vintage Afghan Tribal Kilim in Brown with Geometric Pattern by Rug & Kilim

About the Item

This vintage 4x9 Afghan Kilim is handwoven in wool and originates circa 1950-1960. It boasts an uncommon technique, and a versatile size with vast applications. Further on the Design: This Kilim marries a high-and-low play of pile and flat weave with its geometric patterns. The colorway favors a rich chocolate brown as a base, with salmon pink, rust orange and red accents therein. Connoisseurs will admire the skill it takes to play pattern and pile variation together like we see here. It’s as much a work of folk art as a handmade Kilim—full of rustic charm and personality. This mid-century Kilim further enjoys good condition and minimal wear for its age.
