This hand-knotted silk antique Chinese Peking rug features a rounded open center fretwork medallion enclosing a center rosette. Graceful stylized floral motifs decorate the field on each side of the medallion, their delicate scrolling reminiscent of the fretwork patterns in the rest of the field design, which engenders a strong sense of harmony and balance. Corresponding fretwork patterns form the corner spandrels. A classic fretwork main border and pearl inner border frame the composition. With its elegance and versatility, this antique Chinese Peking rug would be a tasteful addition to any interior. Rendered in variegated shades of beige, navy blue, cream, ink blue, and royal blue.
