About the Item
All the decoration is delicate and floral in this royal blue circa 1890 Peking carpet with a round foliate medallion and matching triangular corners. Finely detailed ivory borders in two scales enframe the whole. There is nothing out of scale, no jarring design incoherencies in this northeastern Chinese decorative rug.
