Channeling the famed Walter Nichols style of the 1920s and 1930s, this hand knotted wool new contemporary Chinese Art Deco rug features a lustrous vanilla field and brick red border festooned with scrolling tree branches and floral vines. The design of this piece has been rendered in a manner faithful to the beloved Art Deco rugs that inspired it. The sprays of floral bands showcase wonderful shading and detailing, traditionally a hallmark of many fine antique Chinese carpets. The striking color palette, comprised of muted pastels and touches of deep blue set against a neutral field and reddish border, is both Classic and highly adaptable.
