Made with hand knotted wool, this Tabriz style rug represents a graceful addition to the Modern Classics collection by Rug & Kilim, inspired by our team’s experience in rare antique and vintage Classic patterns of the most celebrated families inspiring designs akin to this spacious 8 x 10 rug. While the field enjoys the ideal Classic play of golden-beige and brown notes uplifting the renowned intricacies of a Tabriz floral pattern, the border draws on a more modern juxtaposition of rich, luminous red and blue hues framing the portrait with a natural depth while complementing both the sense of movement and regal nature of this transitional rug; achieved by one of our most reputed long-standing partner looms in China. About the collection: Since establishing our trade-only showroom in New York over 20 years ago, the interest in modern and contemporary flooring has been equal parts motivation and inspiration for Josh, who has long invested efforts innovating material and pioneering the designs we add to this aspect of our collections. The midcentury collection, too, draws influence from icons of the 1950s in its growing selection of patterns, both the effort of refining large-scale graph, texture, and color over three years and collaborating with Classic and current designers who’ve embraced the style as a new face of modern.
