Large needle point rug 670x 430 cm. with continuous pattern from the '80s.
Vintage France Style, handmade in China in the '80s. Large size, measuring 6.70 m x 4.30 m, featuring various shades of blue, beige, and a touch of deep brown. The continuous pattern allows for easy integration into any setting.
Needlepoint" is a type of canvas work, a form of embroidery in which the thread is stitched through a stiff canvas with a needle. Needlepoint designs completely cover the canvas. It is done using a simple tent stitch (slanted) and relies on color changes in the thread to create the designs. Needlepoint is the oldest form of canvas work.
The level of detail in needlepoint depends on the thread count of the underlying canvas. Due to the inherent lack of flexibility in needlepoint, common uses include eyeglass cases, holiday ornaments, pillows, purses, upholstery, and tapestries.
