Late 19th Century Central Asian Khotan Carpet with a tan background and patterned border. ( 6'9" x 13'3" - 205 x 404 ) The uncommon tan field of this Sinkiang Khotan long rug has two bold red and orange medallions edged in prominent hooks, with geometric floral sprays, small gul-like motives and , black and white triangular fret corners. Of the borders, a polychrome tuning fork minor is a particular standout on this c. 1890 carpet.
