Handwoven in wool, this 7x9 flatweave rug “Acanthus” from China features floral patterns that are often seen in botanical illustrations throughout Aubusson, Tudor, Bessarabian and other rug, tapestry and flatweaving provenances throughout European history.
On the Design:
This particular design draws on Aubusson and Bessarabian styles, both known to favor such rich chocolate undertones on occasion, as well as these bright spring colors like the teal, pink and chartreuse accents at play
