Vintage Handmade Chinese Area Rug Art Deco Design

Antique handmade Chinese area rug made from fine wool and all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for people and pets. This beautiful piece features a rich field of floral details in bright colors that was so popular in the 1920s when the Art Deco movement flourished and permeated every facet of American lifestyle including home decor and interior design.
This area rug has oversize dimensions of 12'2" x 22'8" that works well in large open spaces. It has the classic Art Deco design which matches perfectly with modern and contemporary interiors.
Fun facts about rug names:
Chinese Art Deco rugs were made popular by Walter Nichols who introduced a mechanical style of wool production that resulted in strands that were thicker compared to what traditional rug makers were using. He established a workshop in Northern China and began making rugs inspired by the Art Deco movement boom that flourished from the 1920s-1930s. Today, authentic Nichols Art Deco rugs are highly coveted by collectors and designers.
