19th Century N. Indian Agra Carpet ( 11'10" x 15' - 360 x 458 )

About the Item

The rich deep brown field displays a very close rendering of the classic allover Herati pattern of open diamonds, ‘fish’ leaves and palmettes, while the nine patterned borders of this good condition antique northern Indian city carpet is centred by a relatively narrow brown main band with a reversing turtle palmette design.
