About the Item

Hand knotted in wool from India circa 1890-1900, this 19th century antique runners originates as a fragment/border of a classic 19th century Agra rug, idyllic of the regal and intricate nature of this celebrated carpet family. Connoisseurs will note the subtle European influence, notable in the field geometry while the borders too enjoy a more contemporary approach to this warm play of gold and beige-brown tones seldom seen in a quality 3x18 runner of this magnificence; a welcomed addition to the Antique & Vintage Collection. About the collection: Antique rugs have been in Josh’s resume since he began in the industry almost 40 years ago when he was already recognized for one of the largest oriental rug collections in the United States.
