Made with hand-knotted wool and silk circa 1920-1930, this 2×3 antique Kashmir rug is an exciting new curation from Rug & Kilim’s collection of rare Indian rugs. On the Design: Bright beige and white tones in field and border alike underscore floral and pictorial patterns of birds on branches—favoring bright blue, red and chartreuse green tones. Admirers of craft will appreciate Kashmir rugs of luxurious construction and detail among some of the most collectible works of the period.     20th century, India, a finely knotted silk Kashmir rug with, floral designs incorporating blues, greens, and neutrals on a light pink ground. There is a label remnant verso. Because of the high sheen, some portions of the rug seem darker than others. The colors of the rug are even throughout the rug. It is the interplay of light and silk threads that gives a luminal quality to the rug and imparts it a dark and a light side. Made of real silk, the rug has a high 350-400 kpsi (knots per square inch) count. Dimensions: approximately 72"l x 49"w Condition: Good, minimal wear observed.
