Antique Rug in Beige-Brown with Open Field & Geometric Borders

About the Item

This antique 9x13 rug is a rare acquisition from the new unveilings in Rug & Kilim’s Antique & Vintage Collection. On the Design: Hand-knotted in wool circa 1910-1920, this rug looks to be inspired by Egyptian architectural sensibilities in its borders. Keen eyes will admire pink and red, blue, gold and other hues in many florals and geometric patterns around a beige-brown open field. Keen eyes will especially admire the saturated, delicious jewel tones and the sense of movement the layered borders achieve. Connoisseurs may further note this is an extremely collectible rug of an unusual provenance—particularly one that plays atypical elements together in a regal fashion. It’s an elegant work of intrigue and fine detail, and a large size with vast design applications today. Condition: This antique open field rug further enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
