While the world of contemporary rugs seems to be full of unusual shapes and sizes, contemporary runners are often overlooked by both designers and rug aficionados. While they are certainly difficult to decorate with in normal-sized rooms, it would be impossible to imagine a corridor devoid of their warm presence. Indeed, runners have a very special place in our household, which makes them irreplaceable. Contemporary runners are especially beautiful with their whimsical patterns and wonderful textures – ignoring them would be a sin! No house s complete without a good runner, so it is no wonder that Doris Leslie Blau’s contemporary rug collection contains quite a few of them!
This stunning contemporary runner was hand knotted using the highest quality blend of wool and silk, which ensured both its softness and durability. Pattern depicted on the pile is a modern composition, undoubtedly inspired by various geometric rugs. Strangely symmetrical shapes were placed in a disorganized manner, creating an aesthetically pleasing contrast between order and chaos of the form. Color palette accompanying this design contains mostly warm shades of sandy beige with a tinge of brown, which was highlighted using a very light crème.
