Scandinavia is famed for its impeccable craftsmanship and ingenious approach to design. According to the northern philosophy, utilitarian objects should be practical, functional and beautiful. Thus, Scandinavian aesthetics builds upon simple, geometric forms which tend to represent wild nature or bucolic countryside and exude a truly heart warming appeal. This custom flat-woven runner is an excellent example of the Swedish way of thinking. It was thoroughly hand knotted of the first-rate wool in accordance with old and refined techniques by a skilled artisan due to which it will be able to serve its owners for generations without any signs of wear. The only design are thick stripes of light slate grey hue sprinkled with tiny dots of a lighter shade against the off-white background. Such minimalism makes the runner absolutely versatile and ready to fit into all kinds of interior arrangements, from Classic to contemporary.
