Size: 12'0" × 18'2" (365 × 553 cm)
It is not easy to face such a beautiful item. This hand knotted abstract carpet brings to mind distant lands with their climate, exotic plants and recherche smell of spices. Fibers dyed in rich shades of cinnamon create a background for an openwork scheme resembling peacock feathers, flowers and leaves in circular arrangements of different size. Analyzing the pattern one can conclude that the inspiration for the whole composition was the rose wind – well known symbol of travelers and sailors. It occurs gracefully with a delicate pile-weaving made with the use of precious silk and wool.
