This contemporary rug combines the minimalism of Scandinavian design with the furriness of a cowhide. On first sight we see pronounced, orderly anthracite stripes on the off-white background, but to discover all the qualities of this outstanding piece one has to go deeper. There is some organized shagginess which occurs only in the central part of the field and is embossed in slightly visible diamond shapes.
This subtle variation in texture is a genius touch, imbuing this otherwise spare and modern design with warmth and homeliness. Yet, it is not the only relish of this unique geometric pattern carpet. It is in fact made of two all modern rugs, stitched together in a manner that suggests hand-making and further highlights the coziness and home-related connotations.
