This hand knotted classic rug joins the latest additions to the Homage Collection by Rug & Kilim, an ambitious custom-capable encyclopedia of periods recapturing and reinventing an unprecedented range of international styles including Oriental patterns with fresh, European influences. Drawing inspiration from a variety of motifs including the chest, cloudband, Bereket, and serrated leaves—the latter of which exemplify a joyful variation of colors alongside the floral motifs in the meandering border patterns—this classic rug’s play of luminous gold and blue hues complements a more subtle approach to shabby-chic, distressed aesthetic this piece enjoys; an ideal representation of the comfortable wash taken by our long-standing partner loom in India. The unique subtlety of the brighter red hues lends a sense of movement to the more regal symmetry this 8 x 10 offers as well.
