From Rug & Kilim’s Homage selections, a hand-knotted 8x10 carpet in our exemplary take on distressed style.The piece stands inspired by antique Khotan rug designs among the most unique and forgiving designs curated by our principal in his experience with classics. Featuring a scintillating play of geometry, the low wool pile enjoys cool tones of blue, beige-brown & green playing fabulously with the distress on field & border alike. An excellent choice for projects yearning for an elegant imagination with a sense of calm and subtle aesthetic rarity.
Connoisseurs of classics may note the rarity of this pagination of soft colors with an already uncommon design for Khotan Samarkand pieces. To wit, this design plays more uniquely with the texture of our line than almost any other—given many 19th and 20th century pieces of the lineage were finely woven with a mild look of wear similar to our subdued take on the element here—positively exemplified in this 8x10 piece among its many beauties.
