This 4x6 rug from the Modern Classics Collection is inspired by a turn-of-the-century Ningxia rug with dragon pictorials.
On the design:
Connoisseurs will admire Ningxia as a particular quality of Chinese rugs and even East Turkestani Khotan Samarkand rugs of this sensibility. In this piece, a gold field underscore, a sky blue dragon and ruyi cloud motifs, matching the hues of upper-and-lower cloudband borders alike.
