Vintage Kashmir finely woven silk pile area carpet - hand woven - striking color combination - cotton warp and weft with knotted continuous cotton fringe - unsigned - mid 20th century. Good vintage condition - minor stains with signs of age and use - no fading - minor loss to fringe at one corner only. Carpet size - 79" Wide x 130" Long (including fringe).

    20th century, India, a finely knotted silk Kashmir rug with, floral designs incorporating blues, greens, and neutrals on a light pink ground. There is a label remnant verso. Because of the high sheen, some portions of the rug seem darker than others. The colors of the rug are even throughout the rug. It is the interplay of light and silk threads that gives a luminal quality to the rug and imparts it a dark and a light side. Made of real silk, the rug has a high 350-400 kpsi (knots per square inch) count. Dimensions: approximately 72"l x 49"w Condition: Good, minimal wear observed.
