Egyptian Runner Rug Wall Hanging Vintage Bohemian Traditional North African

About the Item

This vintage 1990s cotton mix rug, imported from Egypt, is patterned in an exciting geometric way, with a mix of browns, reds, greens, and yellows. The edges of the rug are fringed, and the runner material soft and comforting to the touch. These types of rugs are common in many Egyptian households, and can be used as a hallway runner, as a sofa covering - or even as a wall hanging to brighten up an interior, as the earthy colours and pleasing patterns lend themselves to use as a work of art All rugs should be washed in cold water and dried flat. This handwoven Algerian Berber rug is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship with a simple stripped design and vibrant colors. This generous size rug features stripes of various colors such as red, yellow, green and many more all set against a beige background. The rug is made using traditional Berber weaving techniques to create a unique and durable textile. The use of natural materials, such as wool or cotton, ensures that the rug is not only beautiful but also eco-friendly. The stripes on the rug are arranged in a horizontal pattern, with each color blending seamlessly into the next. The red stripes are a bold, rich shade, while the yellow stripes are a bright, sunny hue. The green stripes are a deep, earthy tone, and other colors may be incorporated into the design as well. The beige background of the rug provides a neutral base for the colorful stripes, allowing the colors to stand out and make a statement. The texture of the rug is soft yet hardware, making it a comfortable and cozy addition to any room. Unlike other Berber rugs that originate from neighbouring touristic countries and anyone could grab a rug, Algeria is not a touristic destination and therefore extremely difficult to find these rugs outside the country. The use of the white/beige base creates a neutral and versatile backdrop, allowing the vibrant colors and patterns to stand out even more.
