"Firebird", Zayan Moroccan Berber Carpet

About

An amazing Moroccan Berber carpet from the Middle Atlas Mountains. The very dense and well-preserved pile hides a complex tribal design that is only visible on the back. (See second image.) Such carpets were used as beds by the weaver's family. No doubt this one would have kept the family very warm.
