About the rug: This is a hand-knotted rug with 160,000 knots per square meter in a double knot construction. It is made of face yarn that is Egyptian wool with bamboo silk inlays, and the warp and weft are 100% Egyptian cotton. The pile height is about 5mm and the net weight is approximately 3500 grams per square meter. About the design: Inspired by the intricate patterns and geometric motifs of 13th-century Islamic art and architecture in Historic Cairo. This hand-knotted beauty pays tribute to the geometric shapes of minarets, wooden window panes, and artistic ceilings from this era. About the brand: KAHHAL LOOMS is the 5th generation handmade rug producers and traders from Egypt. With several production facilities including an 80 year-old factory in heart of Cairo and 5 retail spaces. The oldest shop at the historical Khan ElKhalili in Old Cairo to the latest shop at the Grand Egyptian Museum, KAHHAL LOOMS are the largest producers and sellers of unique handmade rugs in the region.
