21186 vintage Zemmour Moroccan Kilim Runner with Tribal style 03'03 x 27'04. Full of tiny details and a bold expressive design combined with tribal style, this hand-woven wool vintage Zemmour Berber Moroccan kilim runner is a captivating vision of woven beauty. The abrashed field is composed of a compartmental design decorated with diamonds, checkerboard barley motifs, stacked lozenges, chevron bands, zigzag lines, X-shapes, V-shapes, Burdocks, triangles, and ambiguous tribal motifs. It is enclosed with a geometric border flanked with inner and outer comb-ladder guard bands. Historical richness and full of Ancient Berber symbolism, this vintage Zemmour kilim hallway runner features traditional symbols of protection and femininity in the central area while the borders along the sides traditionally represent the male's presence. In Moroccan rugs, male motifs often appear on the outer portions of the composition, framing and enclosing the female motifs. This presentation can be seen as symbolizing fertility, as well as protection and the sanctuary of the family.
