Extremely rare and very desirable square size vintage native American Navajo rug hand-woven in the Southwestern part of the United States in the 3rd quarter of the 1900s. The eye dazzling design pattern in rows separated with solid stripes. The Navajo rug has beautiful earth tone “Southwestern Colors” throughout the field including ivory, indigo blue, yellow, and rust. Navajo rugs are generally flat woven with wool for the body of the rug and usually cotton foundation. Navajo weavers usually try to use natural organic dyes that are available around their tribal land. The Navajo rugs have geometric designs and the design and symbols have religious and cultural meanings.
