Vintage Large Navajo Area Rug, Southwestern Red, Brown, White, Gray, circa 1930s

About the Item

Large vintage Navajo Area Rug weaving from the Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado, Arizona (Southwestern United States). Woven of native hand-spun wool in natural fleece colors of brown/black, ivory/white, grey/brown with aniline dyed red. Hand woven by a Dine (Navajo) weaver in the 1930s. This textile is well suited for use on the floor as an area rug or as a wall hanging. The Diné (Navajo) peoples are a Native American Indian tribal group indigenous to the area now known as the Southwestern United States. This weaving is in very good vintage condition.
