About the Item

Hand knotted in wool originating from Persia circa 1950-1960, this vintage rug connotes a midcentury Baluch tribal rug design, marrying the Classic richness of beige-brown hues with the equally celebrated tribal medallion patterns in the central field. The wavy, eccentric quality departs from traditional Persian symmetry complementing the more transitional color and design approach, lended a distinctive sense of depth and character in the abrashed spectrum of brown hues in the background highlighting the more arresting, bright hues expanding out to the border; a welcome area rug addition to the Antique & Vintage collection from Rug & Kilim. Rug & Kilim maintains our own facilities for cleaning and restoration exclusively for carpets we’ve sold to ensure their lasting beauty and care long after a piece leaves our collection.
