19th Century Near Square Persian Kermanshah in Floral Pattern in Ivory, Black

About the Item

A rare near square size Persian Kermanshah circa the 3rd quarter of the 1800s. The beautiful Persian Kermanshah has a “distressed’ look and a medallion floral pattern set in an ivory color background. The design throughout the field and border is a scrolling vines and flowers in black and red colors. A beautiful central medallion in black color with the design of vines and flowers in dark red and cream colors. Five borders with wonderful designs and colors including black, red, and cream with designs of vines and flowers running through each border. The weaver's signature is woven into the top border of the rug. Truly a masterpiece of Persian 19th-century weaving.
