A 19th Century Persian Farahan Sarouk area rug in medallion design with floral pattern with navy blue, plum red, pale yellow, French blue colors. The field has floral design set on a navy blue background. There is a beautiful central medallion in plum red color with floral designs in french blue, pink, and brown. The overall floral design of the rug is beautifully demonstrated in the corner spandrels which are in pale yellow with floral designs in French blue, pink, and brown. The border is in navy blue with geometric florets in pale yellow, blue, and cream throughout. The design accent colors throughout the rug include, yellow, French blue, navy blue, pink, red. Truly an artistic creation and a fine example of Farhan Sarouk rugs from the late 1800s.     A wonderful 19th century Persian Farahan in an all-over Herati pattern in an oversized or “mansion size” in navy blue, green, blue, pale yellow. This extremely finely hand woven Farahan rug from Western Persia has a “Herati” all-over pattern set in a navy blue color field with designs in brick red, ivory. The colors on the border include blue, green, yellow, pink, red, and cream. It is extremely rare to find such a rug in this size in a Farahan rug from the mid-1800s.
